Dear all,
Happy new year to all of you!
As there has been no entries to the doodle on interested participants, I will
not arrange an international online meeting on Open311 further development at
this stage. Perhaps December was too busy time of year to consider future
developments.
However, I will within one-two months announce the date for EO-Crowd project
public workshop in spring (March-May). This and the final workshops will
produce recorded online presentations in English, which might be of interest to
those looking for updates and on Open311 methods:
https://www.copernicus-user-uptake.eu/user-uptake/details/eo-crowd-publication-and-crowdsourcing-analysis-of-phenomena-of-interest-in-eo-products-323
Those interested are invited to contact me or
<email obscured><mailto:havaitsemaan@ymparisto.fi>
I will post further info on this to this mailing list. FPCUP EO-Crowd will as
one of the deliverables provide recommendations on how to proceed with
crowdsourcing and public participation with the professionals (and what is the
role of Open311 & extensions in that). At least European development project
activities are foreseen.
PS In case there are activities to improve/develop Open311, I would be
interested to contribute.

Hi everyone
As I recently announced in this forum, we in SYKE have extended and used
Open311 for reporting and crowdsourcing environment related issues, mostly
observations of state of environment. We would be keen on hearing more of
future developments, and it could be interesting to participate in some role
too.
Recently there was an international co-operation attempt for Open311, but it
faded away due to lack of participation. Or I might just had tried a wrong
meeting url (perhaps at wrong time, too). However, in an European project there
is work on integrating Copernicus service satellite data for these services
(FPCUP EO-Crowd).
The translator service sounds interesting for Open311: However, a voice user
interface for the services, supporting extensive single/multiple selections and
easy user requests for additional info and potential warnings as defined in
(extended) Open311 could be of interest as first step: We would merely like to
gather clearly classified observation content, less "freetext with confusing
content".
I would be happy to organize a common session for interested partners in
January - if there would be interest, as indicated by 16th Dec:
https://doodle.com/poll/3ak76gp5cfqbhv4b?utm_source=poll&utm_medium=link
I will set up a meeting (or propose additional times) if there is interest: So
if the current dates are tricky, just state your name and select "no"
options....
